We're here to (above all) give glory to God, "For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to Him be the glory forever. Amen" - Romans 11v36.

Days Of Praise

I love you Father, because you first love me and sent your Son to atone for my sins. And I stand amazed that Jesus, who by nature had always been God, did not cling to His rights as your equal…that He laid aside all His privileges, to be born as a human being…that He totally humbled Himself, submitting to the death of a common criminal, enduring the infinite humiliation and pain…that on the cross You laid on Him the compressed weight of all my sin and guilt and shame, of all my griefs and sorrows, and He became sin for me, dying my death.

And how much I praise You that it was impossible for death to hold Him in its power…that You raised Him from the dead to be my Saviour, to make me righteous in Your sight…that You highly exalted Him, giving Him a position infinitely superior to any conceivable command, authority, power, or control, both natural and supernatural. Thank you that He is the Great High Priest…that He is able to save me completely, for He lives forever and prays for me, and for all of us who have come to You through Him. I glorify You, my Father, with gratefulness and joy.

And I bow at the feet of Him who was dead, and is now alive forever and ever. I exalt Him, I yield myself to Him, for He is worthy of the total response of my entire being: “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and wisdom and might and honour and glory and blessing.”

And God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony and death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. Acts 2:24

Contentment

Philippians 4:12 shows us that contentment is not a natural inclination of man. Covetousness, discontent and murmuring are as natural to man as thorns are to the soil. The precious things of the earth must be cultivated. If we would have wheat we must plough and sow. If we want flowers there must be a garden and all the gardeners care. Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven. If we want it, it must be cultivated. It will not grow in us by nature. It is the new nature alone that can produce it, and even then we must be especially careful and watchful that we maintain and cultivate the grace which God has sown in us. Paul says “I have learned the secret of being content…;” as much as to say, he did not know how at one time. It cost him some pains to attain to the mystery of that great truth. No doubt he sometimes thought he had learned, and them broke down. And when at last he had attained it and could say, “for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” He was then an old grey-haired man, upon the borders of the grave – a poor prisoner shut up in Nero’s dungeon at Rome. Do not indulge the notion that you can be content without learning, or learn without discipline. It is not a power that can be exercised naturally, but a science to be acquired gradually. We know this from experience. Hush that murmur, natural though it be, and continue as a diligent pupil in the Word.

When God Calls

“The Lord…..stood there calling…..“Samuel! Samuel!” Then Samuel said “Speak, for your servant is listening.” ”. 1 Samuel 3:10

Samuel was still a baby when his mother dedicated him to the Lord. He started working for God when he was still a little boy. He was an instrument in the Lord’s hand. He had to learn to recognise God’s voice. Eli helped him with that. It was also Eli who taught him to say “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.” Even as a very young boy Samuel spoke to the Lord and listened to Him. When Samuel grew up, he became a leader who guided and taught his people. Because he lived so close to the Lord, he knew the Lord’s will and then told the people what He wanted. Samuel was a great leader in Israel. Our country also needs leaders who can guide people the way God requires. Maybe the Lord wants you to be a leader. If so, you need to start listening to the voice of the Lord in your heart right now. He doesn’t speak that you can physically hear Him, but He speaks to you through the Bible and through the Holy Spirit in your heart. If we know something is according to the Word of God and we are happy with that, then it is most probably the Lord speaking. Just tell Him that you are listening. Who knows, maybe you will also become a great leader like Samuel.

Think About These:
Great is the art of beginning - but greater the art of ending. Longfellow.

Jehovah-Shalom

Jehovah-Shalom means that God is your peace. When people hear the word “peace” they often think of the absence of war, but God’s peace means something totally different. When Jesus was born these words were heard, “Peace on earth…”. This did not mean that wars had ceased on earth. It meant that Peace on earth was a person. Jesus is the Prince of peace. God’s peace means that you can have peace with God and the peace of God abiding in you.

Jehovah-Shammah

His presence with you is the hope of your life, the peace in your mind, and the song in your heart. His presence means that it is well with your soul. It is His desire to be at the centre of who you are and all you do. Where would we be without Him!
